The animation equivalent of a painting of a crying clown on black velvet. This is the most, saccharine, blatant, unimaginative drivel I’ve seen since film school. If you wish to create pathos and tragedy you really have to try harder than tossing a tiny coffin into your piece. It’s like shooting fish in a barrell. The most obvious, ham-fisted manipulation imaginable. Utterly meaningless. Not to say that there isn’t some nice animation in here. The father character definitely has some glimmer of life and there is some subtlety in the performance - whoever animated this has potential. However the execution and message of the piece is so childishly simplistic, it’s like an 8 year old conceived of it. My god…. a freakin coffin!!!!! Weak.
